6 Ingredients for Six Pack Abs: High Fiber Muesli

One way I've been shrinking the size of my tummy after pregnancy is by eating high fiber cereal. A few years ago I started making my own after realizing how easy and inexpensive it actually was. Today I'm sharing my super simple 6 ingredient recipe that'll help take you to Shredded Town.

So... how does fiber help me get that six pack?

Less Calories, More Filling.

According to a study done by the Human Nutrition Research
Center (Tufts University) high fiber foods are a low calorie way of adding "bulk" to your meals. This is a double bonus; not only are you consuming less calories at meal times but since you feel fuller longer, you're going to consume less food in general.

Beats the Belly Bloat

Insoluble fiber, like what's found in muesli, isn't digested and passes through the body quickly. This helps to reduce bloating by clearing out waste in the body. Your stomach will be flatter and you'll also feel lighter!

Muesli was first created about 100 years ago when a Swiss physician discovered the benefits of a high fiber diet. I used to buy Muesli in the store but it can be expensive. A few years ago I realized that I could just make my own at home and started experimenting. I've made Muesli a bunch of different ways and these days, I've got my recipe down to just 6 ingredients.

In a large container combine:

3 cups old fashioned oats
2 cups plain bran flakes
1 cup granola of your choice
1 cup dried fruit of your choice
3/4 cup chopped nuts of your choice
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
*serving size 1/2 cup - recommended that you do not exceed.

Thoroughly blend all these ingredients together and use this as one of your tools to scale back belly fat!

Now that's what I call Shredded Wheat.
